Simple Red Sauce
Three main ingredients bring this sauce together: garlic, canned diced tomatoes and a broth of your choice. Add your favorites seasonings and you are good to go! Toss with cooked chicken, shrimp, eggplant, pasta, or mixed vegetables.

garlic press a chefs knife and cutting board work if you don't have a press
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves diced garlic optional.
- 1 14 ounce can diced tomatoes
- 1 cup stock consider your pairing or dietary restrictions. Chicken, seafood, or vegetable stock all work well
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp dried basil optional
- ¼ tsp dried oregano optional
- ¼ tsp dried thyme optional
- spices of choice
If adding garlic, peel and dice your garlic
Add olive oil to saucepan and bring saucepan to medium heat
add garlic and cook until garlic is fragrant
add diced tomatoes, add all your chosen spices, and stir
add stock, stir. Let it cook over the medium heat until it begins to boil. Set to low heat/simmer
let simmer, uncovered, until desired consistency, usually 5-10 minutes
toss with your protein/pasta or plate your protein/pasta and spoon sauce over top
