
Simple Red Sauce
Three main ingredients bring this sauce together: garlic, canned diced tomatoes and a broth of your choice. Add your favorites seasonings and you are good to go! Toss with cooked chicken, shrimp, eggplant, pasta, or mixed vegetables.

Equipment
- 1 saucepan
- 1 spoon or spatula
- 1 garlic press a chefs knife and cutting board work if you don't have a press
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves diced garlic optional.
- 1 14 ounce can diced tomatoes
- 1 cup stock consider your pairing or dietary restrictions. Chicken, seafood, or vegetable stock all work well
- 1 tsp salt
- Β½ tsp pepper
- Β½ tsp dried basil optional
- ΒΌ tsp dried oregano optional
- ΒΌ tsp dried thyme optional
- spices of choice
Instructions
- If adding garlic, peel and dice your garlic
- Add olive oil to saucepan and bring saucepan to medium heat
- add garlic and cook until garlic is fragrant
- add diced tomatoes, add all your chosen spices, and stir
- add stock, stir. Let it cook over the medium heat until it begins to boil. Set to low heat/simmer
- let simmer, uncovered, until desired consistency, usually 5-10 minutes
- toss with your protein/pasta or plate your protein/pasta and spoon sauce over top
